In many places there is growth

We thank the Lord that there is not only growth when someone comes to visit. God’s kingdom doesn’t primarily grow through spiritual “big guys”, but when all the believers are serving. We constantly hear reports from our various groups about what is happening in towns, villages and nomadic camps in Niger and other countries where we are involved. Believers see the Kingdom of God in everyday life. Here are some brief examples:

Greetings from Issa in Tanout

Not long ago we had a meeting in Tanout attended by 45 family leaders. The Lord is building a mighty army for His people. Some of those who came to this meeting for leaders had to walk for several days to get there. They do this every month. Two grown men committed their lives to Jesus that weekend.

From Andrawos in Zinder

A woman came and told us with great joy what the Lord had done for her. She is a relation of one of our members. She had been plagued by demons for a long time. When I visited the family, I saw just how much they tormented her:

The woman rolled around on the floor shrieking with fear and shouting: “They’re killing me! They’re killing me!” I stood quietly, waiting to hear from the Holy Spirit what I should do. I realised that the woman could hear voices that filled her with fear, and that told her that she was going to die. The demons threw her around with much force. I laid my hands upon her and commanded calmly: ”Freedom!” After a couple of loud grunts, she became quiet. She opened her eyes and asked what had happened. Then she started to cry from joy and relief.

Afterwards she told us that everything had started when she had stolen 1000 ca (about $2) from a neighbour. The neighbour had cast a curse over her using verses from the Koran. A single word of authority from Jesus had set her free. The woman accepted Jesus as her saviour. But her family, parents and husband will not allow her to attend meetings with us. They say that it was shameful for the family to have a daughter who was demon possessed, but the shame would be even greater if she were to attend Christian meetings.
