Physical manifestation of God’s presence
|
At the meetings in Tønsberg, we have experienced a growing anointing and increase in God’s presence. The Father loves to pour out his goodness over those who seek Him. Sometimes at meetings we end up with more people lying on the floor than standing, because the presence of God has come upon us.

It is not possible to feel the powerful touch of God over and over again and not be changed. The Bible speaks of being changed into the same picture as what you see. Let us continue to seek God’s presence so that He can influence and change us. It may look a bit strange when God’s amazing power and glory come upon a weak little person, some start to laugh, others shake, some cry and others fall to the ground. And some get up onto their feet healed. However, the outer signs are not as important as what the Lord does in people’s inner beings when He meets them.
During one of our baptism meetings in the summer, we experienced that God’s presence and glory came upon one of those being baptised. In water, most people feel lighter, but during the baptism God’s glory fell upon Rebecca, and we (two grown men) had problems holding her head above the water. When we managed to get her back to dry land, she lay for some time soaking in God’s presence. Afterwards, as she was telling the rest of the meeting what had happened, the same presence of God came upon her and the rest of the people once more. Later in the autumn, she and her brother experienced that their hands became covered with gold dust during a period of worship. We thank the Lord that He, in amazing ways, demonstrates to us that He cares. God is divine and spiritual. When He does something, He does it in a divine and spiritual way.
We have been witness to many strange and spiritual phenomena during our mission work in Africa. Now we are beginning to see more and more of this in Norway. We are not specifically looking for these manifestations, but we are searching for the living God. Some may be bothered by such experiences. I believe rather that there is cause for worry if we never see a noticeable demonstration of God’s presence in our midst. God is just as alive today as He was in Jesus’ time.
