Anna Liverød (14) visiting a Hausa village.

Powerful presence of God at Zinder ConferenceThe conference at Zinder opened with a word of knowledge given through my daughter Anna (14), about someone who had problems with their ears. A man came forward to be prayed for by Anna and was instantly healed. He had had pain in both ears for 40 years, but that day he went and sat down with no trace of pain left. So the conference was well underway even before the first day’s teaching had begun.

In the last newsletter, we wrote about the commander in Ader-Bissnat. Despite being a Muslim, he gave us a warm welcome and also emphasised that he was in complete charge of the region (“I am the President here”, is what he told us.)

The Holy Spirit came upon us unexpectedly at the side of the road.
|
One day we (i.e. the team from Norway, Duncan and Carlos from Catch the Fire, two locals and myself) were looking for somewhere where we could camp down out in the bush. There were bushes, rocks or humps and bumps everywhere and we drove for some time, looking for a level area where we could sleep. Eventually we found a place, but when we got out of the car, we realised that there was a puncture in one of the tyres.

Right now, as you read this newsletter, a team from Kraftskolen SBI is in Niger. Having them with me has been a non-stop blessing. They have been in Gesaua and many other places. They spread the presence and the power of God in a wonderful way to all those around them.

People accepting healing in Gesaua

Text: Terje Liverød, Photo: WOM
We drove in three cars from Zinder northwards towards Tanout. But for some reason, Pastor Song turned off into a side road. When we reached the military checkpoint on the outskirts of Zinder, Duncan remembered that he had left his driver’s licence at the house. He turned round and drove back. So on our way out of Zinder, there was only one car left. We decided to carry on northwards regardless and stopped in Gesaua, a town some 45 minutes north of Zinder. While we (Ida and Liv from Kraftskole SBI, Dajuma from the school in Zinder, and myself) were waiting for the others, we ordered a cup of tea from a roadside café.

In an hotel room in Mauritania
In December we had a series of meetings in Mauritania. One afternoon I was sitting in my hotel room when Ankor arrived with a believer from a village in the desert. This man had been poisoned four years ago. The toxin had not killed him, but one side of his body had become paralysed. Ankor and a friend had carried him together up to my hotel room. I was completely unprepared when they turned up at my door and introduced me to the lame man.
